Research Interests

  • validation of high-resolution satellite gravimetry data
  • quantifying timing and magnitude of Gulf of Alaska glacier runoff
  • downscaling remote sensing data for hydrological modeling
  • modeling glacier response to climate change

Current Projects

  • Combining GRACE, IceBridge/ICESat altimetry and field observations to improve estimates of glacier and ice sheet contributions to rising sea level (Grant number NNX13AK37G)
  • Assessing the sensitivity of Alaska's coastal rainforest ecosystem to changes in glacier runoff. (Grant number G11AC2058, USGS/DOI).
  • Development and validation of an updated hydrological model for Prince William Sound, Alaska. (Oil Spills Recovery Institute).
  • Assessment of flood hazard potential in the Valdez Glacier watershed. (Alaska Department of Geological and Geophysical Surveys; Department of Transportation).
  • Mass budgets of Alaskan glaciers: an assessment of the dynamic contribution to sea level rise. (Grant number NNH10ZDA001N-CRYO, NASA).
